Charly Ryan has been working with the Sunday School since 1984 when the Ryan family moved to Potomac from Mclean, VA. She began teaching Kindergarten in 1985 and within a year was asked to chair the Education Committee at PUMC. In the early 90's Charly volunteered to substitute teach in the Senior High Class and has been there ever since. Along with some wonderful team members (Tom Parsons, Susan Epstien, Kim and Jim Bair, Chris Snead, Will Pumphrey and Chad Irish) the Senior High and UMYF grew from a handful of teens to now over 50 students from sometimes as many as twelve high schools throughout the Montgomery County Area. She has been an active part time member of the PUMC Staff and has served on many committees (including Education, Worship, Nominations, UMW...just to name a few!), chaired the Fundraising Committee for Building Our Faith Capital Campaign, and was one of the "original" members of Strawberry Festival committee.
In her "other life" Charly works as the director of institutional advancement at a local Catholicschool and enjoys time with friends and family. She enjoys being behind a camera and a "Charly photo" will often appear in the Trail, on a notecard or a bulletin board. The Senior High and UMYF are a big part of Charly's love for PUMC.
