"...the overall musical program of the church is considered one of the strongest in the Washington Metropolitan area..."
- the Potomac Almanac

The Music Program at the Potomac United Methodist Church is an eclectic one, featuring classical and contemporary anthems and service music with special vocal and instrumental offerings on holiday Sundays. The church is very proud of the fact that it is the only one in the area which includes choir music throughout the summer. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at 7:15 P.M.

Anyone interested in the chancel choir should contact Organist-Choir Master Rosemary Dyer at 301-299-9669 or
email at frontdesk@potomac-umc.org.  Be sure to include your phone number and/or e-mail address.

Church Community Concert Series

Music Director Rosemary Dyer oversees the acclaimed Concert Series with the help of dedicated and hard working members of the Music Guild.

The Concert Series' singers and instrumentalists provide performances which have been described as "Kennedy Center level" by reviewers on the Potomac Almanac.  The Series has presented the Grammy Award-winning Maryland Boys Choir, the nationally known Riverside Brass, and the internationally renowned pianist Thomas Pandolfi.   It was the recipient of a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council for the world premier of Pete Stokes' "The Pathfinder."

The church is always interested in having new performers join the group. If you are interested in arranging for an audition with Music Director Dyer, you can contact her through the church office (301-299-9383) or by e-mail.  Be sure to include your phone number and/or e-mail address and a short description of your musical background/skills.

If you would like to get involved in providing financial or technical support necessary to put on these concerts, please contact Rosie Dyer, Music Director at 301-299-9383 or Charlotte Pascoe, Music Guild Chairman at
301-509-1510.
