Potomac United Methodist Church (PUMC) is like a big extended family – a place that makes you feel right at home.   A place of special Christian fellowship and life-long friendships.  A place committed to serving our community and our world and sharing God's love with others.

Our community of dedicated and supportive volunteers organize service projects and fellowship activities for all ages.  Whether it’s our Sunday School, youth programs, adult bible study, Faith in Action service weekend, Strawberry Festival, music ministry, book club, and much more, everyone can find something that matches their interests and helps them grow closer in their walk with God.

Our Membership shares a vision of giving thanks for our blessings by giving to others. We seek to reach out to local, national, and international communities and provide support to people and organizations in need.   Serving others is why we exist.  It's our joy. It's our vision of being "Alive! in Christ, Serving God Together."

A Nurturing Journey for Children

We want your children to begin their spiritual journey in a nurturing and positive environment.  Every Sunday morning from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, we greet our young friends with an enriching hour filled with love, laughter, and learning.

An Active Youth Program

Teenagers need activities that bring them together with their peers in supportive and fun ways.  Our youth program engages teens in a variety of service and fellowship events that allow them to build special relationships with each other and with God.

A Potomac Landmark

Established in 1854 and located in the heart of Potomac, Maryland, our beautiful and historical grounds occupy a site where a Presbyterian church, Captain John's Meetinghouse, stood as early as 1716.  A cemetery dating back to the 1700s surrounds the Church, and just next door is the new Parish Center, a 30,000 square foot facility that offers tremendous space for meetings, special events, and community gatherings.

All are welcome at Potomac United Methodist Church, and we invite you to visit us any time to learn more about our family of faith and fellowship. We hold a Sunday morning worship service from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, with a simultaneous Sunday School for grades K-12 and nursery care for the little ones.
